It does look like TUBKSS on the transcript on free bmd etc, but if Dee has the original marriage certificate she can read it herself.
This is why I suggested getting a birth certificate of one of the children to see what it said on there.

Tempest does it give you the same marriage for George please?

tempest

tempest Report 28 May 2011 20:01

hi Mel

there is no spouse listed on the fmp marriage entry for Mary Tubkss and they give the page as 451 (the original on fmp has a splodgey bit)

the entry for George has the page as 431, the entry only gives 3 names so one is missed off the transcription

the entry is clearer on ancestry

both have the details as

Registration District: Croydon
County: Surrey
Year of Registration: 1879
Quarter of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec
Volume No: 2A

not that any of this helps us at the moment!

Hi,
Tempest, have e-mailed you the certificate. Fingers crossed.

Dee

Dee Report 28 May 2011 20:50

I will get hold of another birth certificate. I already have Henrietta's but as someone pointed out it doesn't have Mary's maiden name. Looking back through the census', Mary does give her birthplace as Barking.

Lindsey,
Have e-mailed the certificate to Tempest, is there a way of putting an image of the certificate in the message box ? Many eyes make light work.

Mary

Mary Report 28 May 2011 21:01

I wonder why Henrietta's birth certificate doesn't have Mary's maiden name on it!! Or do you mean the Baptism records don't have her maiden name on.?
