There are two other members who have Thomas Young born Sussex in their trees.

Just search for birth year 1827, +/- 5 years.

Do you know if he was married to an Elizabeth DAVIDSON? I can't find a marriage in WA; it is possible they never formally wed.

But there are births to a Thomas YOUNG & Elizabeth DAVIDSON in Fremantle/Rottnest 1857-1863 which fits with him being a convict.

Elizabeth 1857 Fremantle, m. Ralph ASHWORTH 1874 Perth, d. March 5 1952 York
Louisa Jane 1860 Rottnest Island, m. Lewis James DUNHAM 1882 York, d. 25 Dec 1944 York
Janet 1861 Fremantle, m. William POLLARD 1880 Middle Swan, d. 11 Dec 1946 Pingelly
Thomas Alexander 1863 Fremantle, m. Esther Ann ASHWORTH 1886 York, d. ?

York Cemetery
ASHWORTH , Elizabeth. Wife of Ralph. 5 Mar 1952 aged 95
ASHWORTH , Ralph. 18 Sep 1937 aged 86. Husband of Elizabeth
DUNHAM , Lewis James. 26 Apr 1914 ageds 56 years 8 months
DUNHAM , Louisa Jane. 27 Dec 1944 aged 84 (with Lewis)

York was a popular area for the resettlement of convicts.

Elizabeth YOUNG, widow of the late Thomas YOUNG, died 12th Sep 1899 aged 79. She was born in Elgin, Scotland and dau of David & Elizabeth. Her funeral notice states she was interred at Karrakatta but no record on the MCB site.
