There is one only.. Thomas D. YOUNG listed on Fremantle W.A prison records, with a birth listed as 1827....and arriving 1853.

1598. THOMAS GEORGE YOUNG and WILLIAM MUZZALL , stealing, whilst employed in the Post-office, a letter containing 210l., and and 15l. Bank-notes, the property of Her Majesty's Postmaster-General.

MESSRS. CLARKSON and BODKIN conducted the Prosecution.

ROSE ANN PHARAOH . I am the wife of Mr. Peter Pharaoh, and reside at Bitterne, near Southampton. On 13th Sept. I wrote to my husband, who was then at Gravesend, and enclosed in it two 10l. and one 5l. notes—I took down the numbers and dates of the notes at the time in this memorandum-book (produced)—the 10l.-notes were Nos. 79668, and 79669, dated 4th June, 1850; and the 5l.-note was No. 50614, dated 3rd July, 1850—I sealed the letter with those notes in it, and addressed it to Mr. Pharaoh, post-office, Gravesend, Kent—I gave the letter to my son Peter to post—the notes were new, and quite entire.

Do you know if he was married to an Elizabeth DAVIDSON? I can't find a marriage in WA; it is possible they never formally wed.

But there are births to a Thomas YOUNG & Elizabeth DAVIDSON in Fremantle/Rottnest 1857-1863 which fits with him being a convict.

York was a popular area for the resettlement of convicts.

Elizabeth YOUNG, widow of the late Thomas YOUNG, died 12th Sep 1899 aged 79. She was born in Elgin, Scotland and dau of David & Elizabeth. Her funeral notice states she was interred at Karrakatta but no record on the MCB site.

thanks Lynski,yes I know,we are all trying to find him after his release from his sentance in 1856 regards graham chambers n.z.

There are two other members who have Thomas Young born Sussex in their trees.

Just search for birth year 1827, +/- 5 years.

Have you tried the search trees to see if anyone has him? I can see three people apart from yourself that seem to have him
