PLEASE CAN ANYONE HELP I HAVE BEEN TOLD I HAD 2 OTHER HALF BROTHERS BORN TO ALFRED MATTHEWS AND ETHEL KELLY OF EXETER BETWEEN 1924 AND 1932 OR MAYBE THEY WERE BORN TO ALFRED IN AN EARLIER MARRIAGE

Do you have any other information (birth or death years?) on Alfred or Ethel?

There is one boy with parents Matthews/Kelly in Exeter in 1932 on free bmd, have you also tried looking there?

PM RECEIVED ....

Raymond was the third half brother who was adopted by my father when he married Ethel Matthews nee Kelly in1938.
It was`t until Raymond died that I was told by his wife that he had told her that he had 2 older brothers which was a surprise to me.
When he was ill she tried to get him to see if he could trace the brothers but he wouldn`t or even talk about them and our mother never spoke of her first marriage.
Not knowing their names does not help.
I will have to keep looking.

THANK YOU I WILL HAVE TO LOOK INTO THAT BUT AS THE BROTHERS DID NOT STAY WITH MY MOTHER I AM WONDERING WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED.

My cousin has found the following regarding half-brothers .
Donald Matthews b Sept 1924 Liskeard Cornwall, Mother Kelly and Gerald W Matthews b Sept 1925 Bodmin Corwall , Mother Kelley.
Please is there any way of finding the christian names of the mother.
My mother was Ethel May but I do not know if she was ever living in Cornwall.
If anyone can help that would be great.

For the mums christian name you would need to buy one of the birth certs I,m afraid
