Yep thats the one. Think I've tried searching for Ranworth births/baptisms before but he doesn't come up. Maybe Philip wasn't his first name? |

possible father in 1851 |

Yeah that makes sense. If thats Philip's father then that makes sense as Philip senior's grandson (also named Philip to confuse things even more) went on to marry into the London family. |

Pork Pie - yes could be a relation. Can't see where in my tree yet though. To be honest that part of norfolk is filled with Clare/Clere's. If I could piece together who's who I think I'd have thousands of them! |

Yes I think you were right with Philip snr's parents being robert and catherine. Also fairly sure that the marriage is right too. A big thank you for all the help! |

Just stumbled upon this thread. I have Philip Clare bap 13 Jun 1779 Ranworth married to Hannah Gibbs, 18 Apr 1804 at Horning, Norfolk. Hannah Gibbs was bap 23 Jan 1781 at Horning. Her parents were Samuel Gibbs and Mary Saul. Hannah's sister Judith born 1782 married Samuel Cole 26 Mar 1804 at Horning. Samuel and Judith were parents of Elizabeth Cole who married Philip Clare junior (born 1806). All rather cosy! |
