UPDATE.

I have found Florence G HOLDEN born 1888 in Chichester- Mother of the Frederick i am looking for on the 1891 Census but i can NOT find her on the 1901, her parents were George A and Louisa Holden.It does seem that Fredericks Grandfather is listed as his Father on his wedding cert - as was suggested to me !!!!!! Any help would be great.

HI, i have been looking for a George Albert HOLDEN, who is listed as a deceased soldier on his son's wedding cert in Dec 1945. It may be me but i can't find any info about him.
His son Frederick Thomas HOLDEN was born in Dec 1918( in East Grinstead as it seems were other children), with mother's name HOLDEN !!! i am trying to find family down from George.
I don't think Frederick had any children, he was married to my half Auntie, and died in 1949 in East Grinstead, well, Uckfield area.
I am really looking to find children from Brothers or Sisters of Frederick.
I have been looking, i don't just ask for help without making some effort myself as i know how busy you all are.
Any pointers would be great.

Well George is under Father on the wedding cert , but nothing is straight forward is it???? :-S

Well that would fit in with him deceased in 1945 !!! but on the cert it said Regular Army ???????

I have Fredericks death cert and on there is a D E Thorndale (Sister) i found a Doris E HOLDEN - birth in East Grinstead so she must have married a THORNDALE !!!!! she was the informant, and the address was 10 Council Terrace, East Grinstead, well thats what it looks like - i have looked to see if that address is still there but can't find it..

Just out of interest does anyone know if the Salvation Army would hold any other bits of info regarding a marriage??? Frederick married in the Eastbourne Citadel, i have sent a message asking for any help months ago, but have heard nothing.

I think Salvation Army do have some records. I remember them being featured in Who do You Think They Are edition. I think Kevin Wheatley episode if my memory serves.
