Find Ancestors

Hi folks, I am helping a friend research their family tree and am trying to find the birth record of the above person and the name of his parents. He thinks that this person was born in Bombay in 1918. I believe the birth records for India are pretty good but have not had the need to search them in my own family tree so I don't know if there is anywhere else to look outside of the 'normal' sources of information. Any info would be much appreciated.

Hi Ginny, He currently knows very little about him although I believe George marries a lady called Joyce Bull and they then have Elizabeth Aspden in 1950, although both the birth of the daughter and the marriage are both in the UK.

Thanks Ann - we will look into this. I am not sure how many genereations the Aspdens had in India - I was assuming not many but this would seem a bit of a coincidence. Can I ask which source you found this from?

Hi, still having no luck with the birth of George. Does anyone know how good the birth records are for Bombay? Just wondering if there is a reason we cant find him? Any other ideas of where to search?
