they came from northumberland i think the rothbury or cambo areas

Try FamilySearch.org Be wary as a lot of the records are submitted by "the public" and are subject to mistakes. There are 2 versions - I still prefer the older one. Or the local family history society. There may be appropriate parish records on line - do you have access to Find My Past? More recent generations will show on census/free bmd etc

My line of descent from John Lambton b.1764 and Mary Oliver is down to their son Edward b.1798 & Margaret Wilson,to their daughter Elizabeth b14/4/1823 who married George Applegarth in 1845 and their daughter Isabel mary Applegarth is my great grandmother.Feel free to email me direct to follow up further.
