Member Since: March 2005 Posts: 19 Send Message	Hi Everyone, I could do with some help. Trying to trace family of Derek A Duncan (mother Lilian Boulton) born 10/04/1924. I am stumped as the info I can find says he married EITHER Monica Marshall (b 1926 in Sculcoates, Yorkshire) OR Monica JEBSON - can't find proof of who he did exactly marry just that it was in 1954! The only other info is that Monica Marshall's mother's name was Mussi. And that Derek died in 1988 in Wandsworth, but I don't who the informant was and I would like to find this out too as I am hoping they will be my cousin and still alive! Thanks for any help...it's a toughy (now there's a challenge!) Anne ;-)

	Do you actually have the death cert to see the informant's name?

	The record says he married Marshall or Jebson. This should be the same person who was previously married. Andy

	The informant missed out his second name and had the wrong birth year so wonder if they were family Name: Derek Duncan Birth Date: 10 Apr 1924 Date of Registration: Apr 1988 Age at Death: 64 Registration district: Wandsworth Inferred County: London Volume: 15 Page: 1072

Member Since: March 2005 Posts: 19 Send Message	Hi Andrew So if it says Marshall or Jebson, does that mean one is her maiden name and one is her married name, then she became Duncan after marrying Derek? I thought iwas a bit of a coincidence that they were both called Monica! The penny drops, thanks, that's really helpful. But I still don't know how to trace their children? Can I look up birth records with Mother's name Monica Duncan? What a novice I am , sorry but REALLY happy for your help!

	You will need to look for children in all the possible combinations. It does look as if Monica was married before. Can't find record at the moment Andy

Is there a database which is best for searching birth records do you find?

	He was born in Willesdon and died in Wandsworth so would he have married in Yorkshire?? seems a long way round.

	Maybe, then her mum married a Marshall note from her marriage she had a second name initial D Name: Monica D Jebson Mother's Maiden Surname: Jebson Date of Registration: Apr-May-Jun 1933 Registration district: Huddersfield Inferred County: Yorkshire Volume Number: 9a Page Number: 427

	Still seems a bit odd though to be born and died in the SE but maybe married in Yorkshire ?? Are you sure its the same man ?
