Ade...I think it may be best if you post the 1901 Census location/details of the family as I am having a devil of a job finding them...

You have the date of birth of Wm. (1825) and marrying Margaret 1891..also he is supposed to be running the Little Man Pub in the 1920's ... Have you missed a generation out somewhere...??

Grand to hear from you Ade....
Will see what I can find from the info you have added....
Yes ...it would be O'Sullivan or you could also be searching for O'Suilabhan....(depending on whether earlier/later generations used the Gaelic)

What makes you think they had 2 children before their marriage...?

Flick

Flick Report 27 Jan 2012 11:49

From Ade's post

they married in summer of 1891 in cork city north blackpool in the cathedral district

Flick Report 27 Jan 2012 11:50

William's birth was c1852 -7........not 1825, as stated

Eringobragh1916

Eringobragh1916 Report 27 Jan 2012 12:14

According to 1911 census they had been married 23 years....(not always accurate but gives an approx date 1887/8...)

Ade ...Have you got the actual MC..?

What were the names of the parents and what address do you have on the Cert...?

Hi
no i dont have the marrage certificate somone sent me the only match of a William o Sullivan & Margret Healy for cork city marrige
i wrote to many churchs around the blackpool area of cork with no luck
i contacted the registra in cork who looked up the details of my granfather john o sullivan 1890
they said there was no record of him & that years ago when a child was baptised peaple often thought that the RC church registered the child

Flick

Flick Report 27 Jan 2012 16:49

Is there any evidence, other than the unproven marriage, that Margaret's maiden name was actually Healy?

Adriene

Adriene Report 27 Jan 2012 17:01

Ade...I think we may have to go back to the drawing board on this one...

What exactly do you have for your grandfather....eg where and when he married..?
.Are you sure John was a Corkman...
Did he stay in Ireland ..?
How accurate is the Sullivan family from the Census relative to your family that you know of.....

List anything you know for certain and we can take it from there.....
