Can you help me ? who was David Pitchforth's( b.1798 )parents? I have become confused where Jacobi Pitchforth & Jacobus Pitchforth b.1675 come into the tree, I keep reading through the threads and cant work it out x many thanks

The marriage was in Prescot, Lancs in 1950 so if Margaret was born in 1929 she would have been 21. If Herbert was about the same age I wouldn't think it was a second marriage and I can't find one.

Possible parents of Herbert Arthur are Arthur H D and Hilda J Williams they married in Dec qtr 1919 in West Derby which at that time covered Liverpool.

Hi ,Tenerife sun ,sorry not been on here ,not been well...My grandmother Fanny Verona Jeffries was born on 12thOctober 1889, on her birth certificate it states that the mother was Ann Elizabeth Jeffries and Matilda was present at the birth at 30 Cheltenham Street, Barrow. , and she was registered on 9th November 1889. from that day Fanny was always known as Thomas and Matida's daughter. As Fanny grew up she was told about Ann being her mother, she was always told that Albert Edward Jeffries was her brother (in fact he was Thomas and Matilda's youngest child) as he was only 2 when Fanny was born, it was then sherealised that Ann and Herbert had named their son Albert also !!! Fanny (Frances) died 22nd February 1972.I would like to thank you for all your work you have done and wonder if you would like another challenge? :-)

Yes 4 children for Roger and Frances Gibson...Roger , Aileen , Eric , Jean was born 20th Dec 1932 thats my mum..

Have you got 4 children for Roger and Frances? In 1912, 1914,1916 and then a big gap to 1933. There is also a Gibson MMN Jeffries birth in Manchester in 1939!!

Fanny married in 1912 as Frances a year earlier on the 1911 she was listed as Verona so I guess she changed her name when she was quite young.

Fanny Verona Jeffries was my nan, she was born illegitimately to Anne Jeffries before Ann went and married Herbert Pitchforth. Ann Jeffries was my great nan and Matilda and Thomas Jeffries were my great-great grandparents ! They bough Fanny up as their own child to stop gossip in those days, my mum who is still alive (80) knew them as ma and pa Jeffries .Brenda Pitchforth was a close cousin of my mum and Brenda married twice .Fanny Verona married a Roger Gibson but she changed her name to Frances, but I don't know when.. even my mum didn't know that her mum was born Fanny until I bought the birth certificate.!!! I would like to thank you Tenerife Sun for all your work. Is there anything else about the Pitchforths that I can give to my mum.. She always thought that Ann was her auntie ,never knew it was her nan until about 15 years ago
