Hi all,
My partner has asked me to post this she has asked for help on any info relating to her grandfather Clarence Bates who was born in 1921 in sheffield. She knows his wifes name mabel gwendoline martin but there is a family story that he was already married when he married mabel.
Any help woulds be grateful

There are some other marriages but not in the Sheffield area.

Do you know who his parents were?

Unfortunately not as my partners dad said Clarence was not around when he was growing up, he doesnt even know if clarence is still alive or has died.

Are you sure he was born in 1921? With the March quarter registration it's possible he was born at the end of 1920.

There's a death for a Clarence Bates in 1982. Birth date is Dec 1920.

Hi martain. just came across whilst trying to research my father side of
the family. my grandfather was clarence bates from sheffield.
my grandmother was violet taylor. if you hav any other info would be
very interesting too see iff this is the same person. as i dont know anything really
about my father family .
