Hi
i was wondering if anyone can help me to see who my Grandfathers dad was.
My grandfathers name is Norman Moon born 15.7.1914 in Sydney,NSW,Australia.
His Mother was Eliza Belle Dunning born 1893 in Wickham NSW Australia and the man who raised my Pop was Eric Roslyn Moon born 1894 in Waterloo NSw Australia.
I believe my pop Normans birth certificate was amended in 1915 just before Eliza and Eric were married.
Could this mean Eric was added as Normans father?
is there any way of finding out what was amended on my pops birth cerificate?

I don't know about Australian certificates, but in UK if you applied for a copy of the birth certificate you would receive one with the ammendment written in full on the far right-hand side.
I have a copy of a 1888 birth. The copy was sent for in 1947 and the details were added to the certificate and dated September 1901.

The fellow mentioned above in Cupcake's second post died 5/12/1971 aged 74 years and is buried at Casino General Cemetery, 6362 Private, 19th Bttn. - husband of Mary and father of Eric and Raymond. Son of David and Mary, so probably isn't the same person.

This ER confirms the hospital mention that Cupcakes posted:

Australian Electoral Rolls, 1903-1980
Name: Eric Roslyn Moon
Gender: Male
Electoral Year: 1963
State: New South Wales
District: Reid
Subdistrict: Granville South

He was a carpenter living at 74 Roseberry Road, Guildford with Belle Eliza.

Living nearby at no 64 were a Reginald and Ronald Moon, both labourers. (Any relation?)

Don't see Eric or Belle on any later ERs.

To MarieCeleste,
Eliza Belle died in 1964 and Eric disappeared soon after, that's why their probably not on the ER's.yes Reginald and Ronald were related to Eric.
cheers Jodie

To Kim,i guess i'll probably never know of his fate, probably went bush to die or something.
