Sorry, i know the surname of Smith is awful but hey will give it a try.
All i have is Ronald Clifford Smith b 7 12 1922 in the London area. Do not know who he married but they had 5 children, Ronald, Pamela,Brenda, Barry and Sally. I got this info from my aunt who has just died and she had started a family tree and that was all there was on it. His parents were George William Smith b 1910 and Ethel Norah Clarke. The other children from Ethel and George were Lillian b 1911, Doris b 1920 Iris b 1918 and Ronald b 1922. Thanks who ever may be looking at this

Are you 100% sure of birth date?

Name: Ronald Clifford Smith
Birth Date: 15 Jan 1921
Date of Registration: Nov 1989
Age at Death: 68
Registration district: Lewisham
Inferred County: London
Volume: 14
Page: 484

Having said that, there is an Ancestry tree with a Ronald Clifford Smith, death year at 1979 - they even have cause of death, but no wife or children recorded.

EDIT that's a different Clifford, different parents.

Jennifer, there is an option which is long-winded but worth it if you are determined!
Have you looked for marriages on Freebmd? I would look at the most likely years first - I always start with when the person was in their 20's/early 30's and work outwards! So start with 1940-55 say.
Pick out the ones which are roughly in area and note spouse's surname.
Then look for births matching this. If you get matches with the children's names it should catch your eye.
As I say, long-winded but if you have some time on your hands ... ! At least you have reasonable names for his children.

How about the Woolwich births with mmn Hogg?

The names look promising Maureen, though not seeing a corresponding marriage?

Nor do I,Jan. Oddly-it looks as though the whole bunch of them were re-registered in 1968. :-S :-S

I think it might be worth investigating the names you have found. Could be any number of reasons for the discrepancy.
Interesting one this isn't it!

EDIT I see Ronald MMN Hogg was Ronald C too - surely worth a look!

LOL! Sometimes you just get lucky!!!

Actually,I saw this fellow on Ancestry:
New York Passenger Lists, 1820-1957 about Ronald Clifford Smith
Name: Ronald Clifford Smith
Arrival Date: 6 Dec 1943
Birth Year: abt 1922
Birth Location: England
Birth Location Other: chadwell heath
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Ethnicity/RaceĀ/Nationality: English
Port of Departure: Greenock, United Kingdom
Port of Arrival: New York, New York
Ship Name: Aquitania

He's a ship's steward-born in the right place, married and living in Eltham...so I took a wild guess and looked for Smith births in Woolwich. Imagine my surprise when all those names showed up!!!

(Same fellow seems to have made a few voyages up to 1945 as a crew member).

Maureen :-)
