Thank you very much for your replies above .All I can say is William was a farm labourer on a farm in Essex when the children were born I have written to the farm owner a few days ago to see if he has any records dateing back of the family but I am still waiting for a reply. The only dates I have for William are that he was born 1884 dont know where either Essex or Suffolk and died 1938 [have death cert] I dont have any info as to who his parents were.Don,t know if he was in the forces. As the name is quite common its hard to find which ones are family when I have such little info to tie them up.I will look futher with the info above and fingers crossed will have good news. Many thanks again . YVONNE |

Based upon information gleaned from the other threads I am now reasonably confident that the William Barnes living as a farm labourer in Steeple Bumpstead in 1911 is the man being enquired about. |

I notice that the couples children were all born in the same registration district between 1914~1925. There is a gap in the births between 1915 and 1920 which might indicate that William was involved in WW1. Have you looked to see whether there are any military records such as a service record or pension record for William? |

Hi I am still trying to find any info on my late grandfather William Barnes I have found when- where- and from which illness he died but I can not find who his parents were .I believe he was born Essex/ Suffolk .I have since found out that he lived with Maud playle but they never married and had 4 children one of which was my late Father. If there is anyone out there that can help me find my late grandfathers parents I would be very grateful. |
