1911 census has Richard Henry Pearse married 7 years to Elizabeth Jane, living Willington, Durham. So I think that leaves Thomas Vest married to Elizabeth Walker.

The census posted by Vera looks like the right one, that couple had been married 7 years but it states 4 children all alive - so not sure where the missing one is.

catherines fathers name was thomas william vest he was a miner and i think they originally came from durham, catherine was 21 at the time of marriage and her residence at time of marriage was the hospital,Rye street,Bishops stortford. i also recieved a copy of my fathers death cert sidney charles perry died 1st march 1979 at herts essex hhosp bishops stortford his last know address was 193 jeround harlow essex. death was registerd by his brother walter henry perry at 36 scott road bishops stortford.

Hi, did your parents marriage certificate turn up? Could you post the details of Catherine's father - name, occupation whether deceased. It may help in tracking the right birth for her to see if she had any siblings - and what age was she when she married. Also, could the witness names give any further clues?

Unfortunatley ive found no matches so far and havnt recieved many replies to my messages. totally stumped now :-|

Thankyou very much for youre help i will contact the post adoption team i presume i have to contact bishops stortford for that, also i have sent a message to someone who had blanche perry in their tree but was unsuccesful i presume they are no longer on genes reunited.

Did you ever order your parents marriage certificate to confirm their ages and father's names? There doesn't appear to be many Catherine's born in the right time frame, the most likely is in Durham 1914.

If the death posted earlier in the thread for Sidney Charles is right, then I think he was 1 of 14 children born between 1901 and 1921. It could be worth trying to find some of them in search trees - their children may know more about the circumstances. A tree on Ancestry has one of the sisters - Blanch Selina born in 1915 who died fairly recently.

Have you approached the Social Services Post Adoption Team in Essex, probably at Chelmsford, and ask permission to place a letter on your siblings files? They might have left a letter there for you

unfortunatley i still seem to have no leads as yet on either robert,david,brenda or patricia and there may have possibly been another birth after patricia. does anyone have any ideas on what my next step should be please xx

I wrote to both of my half sisters son's(my nephews)as they only live 5 miles from me.but as I said they haven't wrote back..
Must be because their mother gave them a tale that wasn't a 100% right.

But as I said it's their loss as they have a big family from me.

Also wrote to eldest half sister's daughter(niece)in OZ but same thing happened.

Sad that they don't want to know but nothing I can do about it.

It's only been about 5/6 days..you have togive them the chance to sit and read the letter and digest it al..Sorry that may sound awful.But I waited around 3/4 months before I said those words.

I wrote again after 5 months but I still haven't heard anything,but it's their loss not mine.
