1891;Browell Theodosia s 1879 Wallbottle Castle Ward, Stamfordham.

Theodosia parents are John & Theodosia Browell unfortunately I am unable to find them on the 1881 census!

When having trouble finding a person on a census, try looking using fewer search criteria

In this case, the unusual forename would be sufficient, along with birth year and birthplace

You must always allow for mistranscribed entries, or those whose spelling is not quite as you would expect. Illiteracy was even more common then than it is now

Theodosia S Browell rather than Theodecia S. Broul
This child is the daughter of Nancy Swan(n)'s deceased daughter Theodosia, who lived from 1859 to 1879, dying in childbirth or soon after. The child's father was John Browell.

Thank you for all the above information and also on how to find them when surnames have been mispelt.

Yes that is Theodosia family her middle name was Swann.

I did find her marriage to David Watson in 1904 Castle ward.
I would like to see if they can be found on 1911 census!

I need to try and find where her father John Browell went too!
