There's a newspaper article about the death of John Wilkie in 1961 in Utica, NY. He was born 31 Jan.1893, Scotland and emigrated to USA in 1923. Sounded like your chap until they gave his parents' names. They were William & Isabella Wilkie. |

Ellis Island site which is free has the arrival of John Salkirk Wilkie 1 Aug. 1923 aboard the Franconia. He was 27 years, 9 months old, a fitter. He lists nearest relative as his father James Wilkie, 9 Arthur St., Overmonton, Glasgow. he's going to join friend Mr. William Low, 73 Su??or St., Andover, Massachusetts. |
