There's a newspaper article about the death of John Wilkie in 1961 in Utica, NY. He was born 31 Jan.1893, Scotland and emigrated to USA in 1923. Sounded like your chap until they gave his parents' names. They were William & Isabella Wilkie.

He was married to Janet McClure in 1916 in Scotland.
