Dea Report 10 Jul 2012 13:26

Well, you seem to have it all sorted then Ginns - I am sure that George will be pleased when he checks back in.

That tree on Ancestry has quite a lot of useful info on it! - all needs checking though, as you say, but I think that the marriage you have found at least proves that we are now following the correct family.

Well done,

So sad for the parents losing two sons and then poor Madge lost her husband soon after marriage and she had a daughter registered the same quarter as the marriage

The daughter for the couple (I think its the daughter) is on 192.com. It looks like Madge had a son registered in Jan/March 1941

What you REALLY need is a copy of that marriage cert for John and Susan to see if his father is given as 'William', a fisherman, then all will link up beautifully.

George,

I am still working on this but have a slight 'quandry' !! :-(

I have found a PERFECT candidate for your' John's father!

I have followed him backwards and forwards and everything seems to fit BUT, his middle name is ' GOODRIDGE'.

I will come back with all the details if I can find some 'proof', but I DO think it is him......... SO frustrating !!! :-(

These are all 'possible' births from FreeBMD site.

Births Sep 1911
BREWER William H Morris Sculcoates 9d 288

Births Mar 1914
BREWER George W Morris Sculcoates 9d 278 ***
BREWER Leslie Morris Sculcoates 9d 277 ***

Births Jun 1915
BREWER George E Morris Sculcoates 9d 309

Births Dec 1919
Brewer Lewis S Morris Sculcoates 9d 309

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is 'possible' that the two in 1914 were twins - Twins will normally be recorded on the same page + reference number and these are not, but they are on consecutive pages so one may have been the last entry and the next at the top of the following page?

However, it DOES lead us to beware though because if they were not twins it means that there was another Brewer/Morris couple having children in the same area around the same time so the children may not necessarily be the ones you want.

What else do you need to know?

Please keep any further questions on this family to this same thread so as to avoid duplication of research.

Thanks,

Dea x
