Is there someone, please, who has access to the newspaper archives who would look up the report of the murder of James Patrick in 1858, reported in the Ipswich area newspapers? Thomas Drane was accused of his murder. |

Thomas Drane was put into an asylum in Norwich as he was classed as 'a dangerous lunatic.' He killed Mr Pattrick who was 89 and a parish clerk, with an axe blow to the head. |

Thank you for picking this up: James Patrick's great-granddaughteer Dorothy was my grandmother. I have a copy of his death certificate on which the ?coroner has entered 'unlawful killing by Thomas Drane' as cause of death, but had not managed to get any further. |
