Yes, the refs on the Medal card lead to the Medal Rolls (at the National Archives, not online). Medal Rolls may give unit he served with. You can't look at War Diaries until you know that. |

You need to know which unit of the RFA he was in, which might be given in the Medal Rolls (at the National Archives, not online), or in his service records, if they have survived (on Ancestry if so). Once you know that, you can find out what he would have been involved in via War Diaries. |

My great uncle served as a driver in the RFA in WW1. Entered France in July 1915. Awarded Victory, British and Star medals. Regimental Number was 62055. Can anyone tell me anything about this regiment and what it did in the Great War? |
