This thread is getting more complicated as we go along..

I looked athe Irwin link you posted and it just doesnt make sense to me

How can the date of the 2nd marriage be earlier than the first..??

That being said I have been chasing after the PA Sagar's and have had some slight success..and a couple of nightmares after finding some Scots Sagars .."Samuel and Eliz".in the same area as Samuel and Malinda....its as well we had the 1900 Cenus with Ann E Scott to clarify we were on the right track or it may have been the case of screaming and yelling back to the drawing board.

The 1910 Census PA shows Malinda (Wid) living with her g daughter Jennie Miller (16).

Jennie is the daughter of Phillip Miller (1874 Germany) and Angeline Sagar (1877 PA)

Phillip (Coalminer) and Angeline married in 1894...The 1900 Census shows them living in Elizabeth Twp.

Remember the Henry Glancey and Mary Ann Glancey ( ?Clusker) who were witness' on the MC.

Well I found a Henry Glancey who travelled out to his brother James 1923 living 93 Mary Street NJ..
Henry was aged 36yrs married and a Bricklayer he was still there without his wife 1930..
On the Ship's manifest (The Celtic) he gave his wife as "Helen" Glancey living New Stenhouse Street C/Beath

Dont know if he was the same Henry who married Mary Ann Clusker beath 1910..??

Because I am researching the ancestors of my grandmother whose maiden name was Elizabeth Anne Scott born c1890 who married a James Clusker born 1893, and yes a bit of a nightmare :-)

James I don't know how this posted on this thread I refer to your maiden name of Elizabeth Anne Scott.Scott is one of my main lines & I know what a nightmare they can be.

If your illegible certificate is from ScotlandsPeople contact them & they should send you a paper copy or at least read the original & give you a name.They are very helpful with this sort of thing.

I found a bit more info:

They arrived in Townsville, Queensland, Australia on 24 Oct 1883 aboard the
Eastern Monarch from Glasgow
The party consisted of Alexander, his wife Mary Jane, son Adam age3, and daughter Mary age1 ( guessed she was Scots born)

EDIT: MARY MARK was born 8 SEP 1881 FAULDHOUSE, WEST LOTHIAN

Interesting:
Look at the dob for the 1st Australian born child Isabella.
16 Oct 1883 !
This child must have been born en route, 8 days prior to arrival.
The birth was registered in Queensland but does no neccessarily mean she was born there.
( I have a birth in my own tree registered in NSW. but I also have the birth record ....Place of birth "Atlantic Ocean")

Son Adam b 1880 definitely arrived in Australia with his family.
There is no trace of him on any Australian electoral roll, nor can I find a death?

Daughter Margaret b 1885 was married to someone called Palmer but I cannot find a marriage for her

Hi Moody Blue,
The info posted above looks right.
Allan Mark and Isobel Brown were both on the 1851 census but are not found after this.
Son Thomas Mark married in 1855 staing both parents deceased.
Therefore Allan and Isobel both died between 1851 and 1854.

Helen Mark daughter of Adam Mark and Mary Philip
This looks right too
Adam and Mary were both on the 1861 return,
Mary Mark maiden name Phillip died in Calderhead, Lanarkshire in 1863.
Adam and some children only appear in 1871.. (no Mary)

Therefore, when daughter Helen married George Scott in 1867, the info is correct.
Father still living and mother deaceased ( in 1863)

There are too many threads here and although relevant info is beng posted by us all, it is being missed in the long list
