i would dearly welcome some help on this one...jane milburn born 1828 wolsingham.Durham...mother:mary milburn (single women)..does anyone live in durham who wouldnt mind going to check these details out for me.as i was thinking that there may-be some footnotes attatched to this info (as sometimes there was)...thank you

Unfortunately there's no additional info.

This record was in the England, Diocese of Durham Bishops' Transcripts ca., 1700-1900 collection. There's no index but doesn't take long to work out how to get to the required record.

You can go to the FS catalog and search for film # 1514540 - they cover the Wolsingham parish records, so Barb's post is a transcription of the original record, not the backup copy for the bishop, and it apparently says Mary. Once I know this, I can make out the Ma_ easy enough - compare with the M in Milburn - the _ry are there, too, but very faint.

Yes mgnv, it is most definitely Mary. I can see how at first glance it could look like Alice.
