I'm having problems looking for a birth for William James who was living in pembrokeshire in the 1840's and 50's. His father was john James and wife was Hannah davies, if anyone could help I would be grateful, Thankyou |

Presumably you have him on the 1851 census? |

Presumably as you know his father and his brides names you have a copy of his marriage certificate. |

Thereare a couple of baptisms for William James in Wales in 1827 - father John ( no mother's name) but without knowing how old your William was on any census you have found him on, and where he puts down for his birthplace, no-one can really go any further. |

Dear everyone who has answered my post, firstly Thankyou. william was married 21st October 1851 at Llanfernach. Both William and hannah were of full age. William lived at Tycoed and hannah lived at Pengawse. William's father is listed as John James and both he and his son were labourers. The problem I have had is that I have not been able to find the family in the census'. In 1861 David was living with a family of the name Daniels and was their Grandson, which was a puzzle because Hannah's name was Davies. I have had a chat with a professional researcher and she has said that Hannah could have used the name Ann or Anne as well as Hannah(this was a common practice for the time). |

Could you copy over on to here the 1861 census for David? |

Dear Patchem, yes William and David are my direct ancestors, my maiden name was James. As far as I know David, and I've had to pay for a professional researcher, was born in 1853 Llanfyrnach. David was married to Rachel Jones, and they had 5 children. I am related to David by his son William Michah James. |
