If you wish to order a copy of a will or grant , you can do so for a fee from the Principal Probate Registry at First Avenue House or any district probate registry. You’ll need to provide the full name of the deceased, the date of the grant and the registry where it was issued.

the record posted above about regarding arrival into Seatle has him on
merchant vessal (MV) Cape Rodney.

the record state that he had served on that ship for 5 years.

ie 1946 - 1951

prior to that he was on the Rapana departed Liverpool 4 July 1945 arrived New York 17 July
in the service column it says Nil, so assume that this was his first voyage on that ship.

there is also this record from 1954
Name: William G Hoy
Arrival Date: 22 Aug 1954
Port of arrival: Wilmington, North Carolina
Ship Name: Argobeam
Last Residence: British
Place of Origin: British

it says that he served for 8 years on that ship, he is chief engineer.
it also gives a serial number for him
S.1507445
