Hi there, I've found 2 possible death records on Free BMD for my gggrandfather William Hood. One is in Dec quarter 1845 Vol 8, Page 173. Second is March quarter 1849 Vol 8 Page 216. I wondered if someone could possibly check these for me to see which might be the one I'm after so I can order the right certificate. I haven't been able to find a birth or christening record for him either but think he would have been born around 1780,s. He married Elizabeth Vines at Bremhill on 3 Oct 1812. They appear to have lived most of their married life in Chippenham & had 4 sons Thomas, Henry, Alfred & George. Any help in identifying the correct record would be much appreciated.

Hi Sheryl welcome to the boards

The only way of finding out is by purchasing the cert...no one can view them

Only other way is finding a burial, I have looked but not seeing one for that time

Have you found him on the 1841 census?

Sorry Sheryl...not much help..

Only narrowing down the 2 deaths a little..

Well done Linda

Not seeing any William's that match those on the 1841

How do you know he died in the 1840s?

I take it this is'nt him?

Hi Jax & Linda, Thank you so much for your replies. I haven't been able to find this
Hood family in the 1841 census. The youngest son was chistened in Chippenham in 1834 & William's wife Elizabeth was listed in the 1851 census as a widow. I haven't been able to find a burial record either. Oh well I'll keep looking. Thanks once again. It's nice to know there are people out there willing to listen & help.

Thanks for the baptism record Chris. The abode is interesting as I hadn't come across that before. Will have to Google it.
