On roots chat somebody was looking into whether there were any archived records - apparently not. You could try the local newspapers to see if any stories were run.

Thank you very much for your help, this confirms family gossip, I don't suppose I could find out what he was in Walton Jail for? How would I go about this?

If some kind person out there could help me with a prison record for George
Whinney who was in Walton Jail in 1911, I do not have the 1911 census and also it may have been after that years census was taken. Can prison records be obtained from 1911?
