I am trying to find a Mr Rae born about 1880 give or take 10 years in scotland. he went to America in 1908-09 he was engaged to a jane Laidlaw but was never heard of again. |

Unless you can find info about his first name and birth year, your chances of tracing him must be zero |

Just to give you an idea of what you're asking - there are over 1 000 male records for Rae born Scotland in the 1881 Scottish census, and over 2 000 in 1891. |

If Jane Laidlaw is your relative, this man has no connection to you, unless he fathered a child with her during the engagement, and even then, it's a tenuous link. |
