HI Gins & Chris,
I came on this morning just to copy out some more of what you both have put on here and got a great laugh and surprise to find more and yes Gins you do know as much as I do about this family lol.
You two are wonderful.
I am trying really hard to sort it all out I went into BDM NSW and was looking for Olly E.Armstrong & Ella L. Armstrong I'm not sure if they are part of the family although their parents are Henry & Louisa, but I just can not find any thing about them marriages or deaths.
Have also tried the Ryerson Index too.
Well once again Thanks heaps.
Cheryl.

I was wondering if you wouldn't mind looking for a death for me now I have absolutely no Idea Where my great grand father died his name is John Lamont born about 1885-88 I think Ireland and came to Greenock Scotland as a boy.
He married Elizabeth McGuire born abt 1885 in Greenock,Scotland she had a sister Anne.
I have Elizabeths death certificate she died 12 June 1931 NSW Australia.
I Just need to find where her husband death, but with the name John Lamont its so hard as there are thousands.

I don't want to push my luck with both of you, but I thought with all family you found on the Armstrongs that you are both great detectives lol.
So I hope you can help with this one to.
Thank you.
Cheryl.

Hi Gins & Chris
yes the tree you have is mine I am Cheryl nee Girdham but I can not find where or when my great grand father John Lamont who is married to Elizabeth McGuire died.
No one spoke of him so I have no idea about him.
Thank you Gin for helping me sort Olga (olly) & Ella out I was not sure about them.

Yes Chris I have that document about the ship they came over on and the Margaret that they mention is my grandmother and she came with her mother and two brothers but no father.
So he is a mystery, never mind one day he will emerge LOL.
Thanks guys for all your help and time.
I'll just write up all the Armstrongs they'll keep me going for awhile.
Thanks.
Cheryl.

Hi Cheryl

If you can afford it, I'd buy the marriage certificate for John Lamont as it will give you his dob etc and then we can search the Irish records for his birth You can also view the Scotish 1911 census on the same site

I dont use Scotlands People but I think the credits are quite cheap and you can view the certificate online and print off

This is the info you can expect to find on a Scotish marriage certificate
