Eunice, it might help if you give his birth year - is he likely to still be living?

Eunice,
Why did you start this, and give far less information, when you had already got replies on your previous thread?
Which bit of information did you take on board?

Why didn't your other threads help?

You tagged one of them as 'answered' which is supposed to indicate that the query has been fully resolved.

BUT....starting new threads is not the way to proceed. It causes people to duplicate research, and is irritating, to put it mildly

Just add to your previous one(s) saying that you still need help.

Another BUT..........buy the man's death cert.........as posted by a helpful member on one of your other threads, and try to contact the person who registered the death

If you're looking for info after he dumped his wife and children, there's no point in posting their names

patchem

patchem Report 5 Nov 2012 22:59

Your previous threads may not have helped, but information was provided there by people working and trying to assist you.
As there are now about 4 threads, all asking for the same information, then unfortunately people are going to stop looking because they see no point in duplicating information, or in trying to find things when you have supplied different facts to the different threads.

Do you know what Mrs Forsythe's name was?
Have you looked into that possible death on another thread? Are you going to get the certificate to see if it helps? (If the correct person the informant could be a relative)
Have you got his exact date of birth - for help with the death certificates? Though you have to remember that the person supplying his birth date for the death certificate may not know the correct date.
Are you going to buy that marriage certificate to see if it is the correct Joseph Fulton?

I think you are wrong to say that the previous threads did not help. In fact, I think that was rather ungracious of you.

Eunice Report 6 Nov 2012 00:57

well if the threads had helped i still would not be looking WOULD I

SylviaInCanada

Eunice

that is NOT the answer to give

It is most certainly very ungracious, as patchem said, and not at all pleasant to read.

Everyone who helps on these boards is a member, just like yourself

we help because we enjoy searching, and out of our good will ............. using subscriptions to sites that we have paid for out of our own pockets.

YOU are asking for people to duplicate work over and over again.

you will find that people will no longer help you when "help" means you asking the same question time and time again because you're not getting the answer that you want.

Think on this ....................... if the answer has not been found, it probably is not to be found!

A thread can help you without providing the whole answer.

To 'help' means to assist, provide some information, query your initial assumptions, ask for more information, point you in several directions, advise you to get some certificates, await your feedback, enter into a dialogue with you, and many more.

To 'help' does not mean to solve.

Are you prepared to get the birth, marriage and death certificates that you undoubtedly need to confirm, or otherwise, that we have the correct Joseph Fulton?

If you are not willing to spend some money then you are not going to get any proof of what happened.

Eunice

You are alienating the people who have tried to help you.

What do you expect us to do?

What YOU need to do is to spend £9.25 on the death cert.............to get info about the informant.......he was YOUR relation.......YOU must make the effort

In tracing family members there is a certain amount of time and money to be outlaid by the persons who wish to have the information.

Helpers enjoy assisting others to find their missing relatives, etc., but the operative word is assisting - not doing it for you. You would be surprised how easy it is to do your own research, especially with the input of the helpers on here.

Give them a break - spell out what you are looking for exactly - combine your threads and help them to help you, by putting all you need and know on one thread.

This is kindly meant and with your best interest at heart.

Just for anyone who sees this thread, here is the marriage and possible death for Joseph Fulton (taken from previous threads).

Eunice, it would help if you could see your way to purchase these certificates as it could either confirm that it is the correct persons or eliminate them from the search.
