When you view original 1911 census it deffinately says William James Copleston. |

The 1901 and 1911 censuses that Catherine has posted are both for the address 62, Spencer Road, Stoke Newington. They had a son, Frances Henry Waud. |

Thank you to all for your further information. I'm now in the process of following up other possible leads or enquiries that have arisen from all your comments. His age (22) together with the surname Wood, appears in the Salvation Army records, but I know that often these details were a bit vague at best. And perhaps the family got so sick of spelling or pronouncing the name Waud (if it turns out to be that) that they simply gave up and said it was Wood! |
