Hiya thanks for everyone continuing to look...I am checking into stuff still....Robert Dickenson was a hawker on the 1861 census.....a hawker/baker apparently according to living stories past down, he was known to be a pieman who sold his wares from a tray in the streets.

Emma Dickenson seems to have married a Thomas Brown and her father is listed as a general dealer

if you look at the witnesses on the marriage for Ellen they are Emma Dickenson and Thomas Brown so they must be siblings...added to the occupation of bottle dealer....

What do think to Robert dying before the 1871, Charlotte marrying 'Paul' and the children were sent elswhere?

Charlotte Paul appears as patient on the 1881 census, correct age too?

Marriage certs are not really accurate as to the fathers status.

however he isn't marked as decd on any of the girls marriage certificates.....any they were in the 1880's

which would possibly explain why they arent about in 1871 if both deaths are theirs?

there are too many variables and not enough knowns and huge gaps in records aghhhhhh but isn't that always the case :o)

Thanks Derek.....its a shame all the ancestry trees I find seem to have matched my Charlotte to the wrong baptism/ earlier census returns and parents.....I got all excited when I matched "my" Charlotte to theirs thinking her father was David then to realise they hadn't quite matched things up correctly...they have Charlotte with father David but married twice to add in Sarah....oh it gets in a muddle :-D

Charlotte could have been anything...and yes they could have married later...in fact Ellen Hucks Jessies daughter married twice....yet her child from her second marriage was born 10 years before they married! But the surnames Wetheridge and Scammell were easier to trace...and not QUITE so many spellings!!

I can confirm that Charlotte Cordelia Parish did not marry Robert....she married someone completely different......

Since your Charlotte appears to have been born St Pancras.........and you're not sure ahe was a Parish.............it is not entirely impossible that in 1861 they were not yet married.............just for information i have a marriage in September 1866, between Robert Dickenson and Charlotte McKay ..at St Pancras..........might be worth bearing in mind.since nobody can find a marriage for Charlotte Parish........
