Find Ancestors

Has anybody got access to US census and would you please be prepared to look up record. I have been searching for my James Samways born 1858 Avington, Hampshire and disappears in UK records before 1891 CENUS (His wife and children are with her parents) and never to be found again here. Family rumour was he left for australia with another woman. But I have found records in US cenus which look interesting and deserve a further look.

Their is a passenger list saying a James Samways left Galway for Boston in 1891 -which is around the correct time but his age is given as 21 years which is many years out. However in 1910 cenus there is a James Samways saying born around 1858 in Douglas, again a James W Samways in 1920 Douglas and James Samways in 1930, California. Could this be my James Samways??

Thank you Ann, that is the two cenus records I can find in UK , after this he disappears -however his last child was born 1888 and I have photographic evidence of him in family photo with wife and three children and youngest is approx 6-12 months.

who did he marry in the UK?

Sorry just seen the US records -bit confusing, do you think these three are all the same people? I see only gives England nothing more.

Well thank you for all your help -this is what I have been doing -and so far, nobody has been able to break through this wall -I have checked deaths in uk, none relating to my James Samways by Archibald's marriage in 1911 he has father as deceased -but I think this is in his eyes, as his mother still refers to herself as married not widowed until her death in 1926
