Her surname sounds Irish

Have you looked at the free 1901 Irish census?

Jacquline Report 12 Nov 2012 10:16

Thank you Richard was born in Wolverhampton but don't know about annie

Jacquline Report 12 Nov 2012 10:19

no haven't looked at the irish census but will do Thanks

Reggie Report 12 Nov 2012 10:20

There is a Kil(l)coyne family in Staffs in 1881/1891, but no record of an Annie with them

You are probably going to need the marriage cert if you hope to progress this enquiry

Reggie Report 12 Nov 2012 10:21

If you found them together in 1911, you MUST know what Annie's birthplace was said to have been

Jacquline Report 12 Nov 2012 10:27

Yes it says Bilston but can-not find a birth there for her there are only 7 birth and none in staffs, looked on irish census but no records found

Reggie Report 12 Nov 2012 10:36

Buy the marriage cert..............if she knew her father, his name will be recorded

JustDinosaurJill Report 12 Nov 2012 10:38

I was just going to say the same about the marriage cert. She doesn't show up on FreeBMD.

Jacquline Report 12 Nov 2012 10:39

ok thanks for trying

JustDinosaurJill Report 12 Nov 2012 14:55

Well, the name remains the same spelling. This is the only child I could find after the 1911.

Jacquline Report 12 Nov 2012 16:34

thank you for looking where did you find that ?
sorry about not answering earlier

JustDinosaurJill Report 12 Nov 2012 17:05

Hi Jackie.

You're welcome. I found it on FreeBMD. Did you not know about this child? I have continued to try to find Annie K in England using surname variants but no luck so far. It may be of course that she believed that she was born in Bilston but it actually wasn't true. It could be that Richard just put down the same area for quickness. Or maybe Annie had left something behind somewhere and didn't want to be traced, or lied about her name or her age. So it's really best to go for the marriage cert and hope for better details.

When you've got the marriage cert, post the details and we will all try and help again.

Added: I've looked and looked and can't find her. I'd be surprised if she wasn't born in Ireland

Jacquline Report 12 Nov 2012 22:11

thank you so much, I looked on the irish census but couldn't find her. your right i will have to get the cert.

kind regards Jackie
