Her surname sounds Irish

Have you looked at the free 1901 Irish census?

There is a Kil(l)coyne family in Staffs in 1881/1891, but no record of an Annie with them

You are probably going to need the marriage cert if you hope to progress this enquiry

ErikaH

ErikaH Report 12 Nov 2012 10:21

If you found them together in 1911, you MUST know what Annie's birthplace was said to have been

Jacquline

Jacquline Report 12 Nov 2012 10:27

Yes it says Bilston but can-not find a birth there for her there are only 7 birth and none in staffs, looked on irish census but no records found

Well, the name remains the same spelling. This is the only child I could find after the 1911.

Hi Jackie.

You're welcome. I found it on FreeBMD. Did you not know about this child? I have continued to try to find Annie K in England using surname variants but no luck so far. It may be of course that she believed that she was born in Bilston but it actually wasn't true. It could be that Richard just put down the same area for quickness. Or maybe Annie had left something behind somewhere and didn't want to be traced, or lied about her name or her age. So it's really best to go for the marriage cert and hope for better details.

When you've got the marriage cert, post the details and we will all try and help again.

Jill

Added: I've looked and looked and can't find her. I'd be surprised if she wasn't born in Ireland
