did me grandads twin die young i found him got mixed up with dates he was a few months old when died

His occupation also suggests he was probably not a serving soldier - collier, even though that was apparently not designated a reserved occ until 1916 it was considered of more use to the war effort

So he was a twin after all!

I think the other two births will be this family as both dates are slightly earlier but still fit with the marriage. One born each year or so, until their move to Yorkshire!

The baptisms would also also suggest that Joseph was not a WW1 soldier.
Just as well because those Corbett Military records are in a mess.

I briefly looked in one single file for a Lancs born Joseph Corbett
Found papers relating to different men enclosed
One English, one Scottish and info on a Polish born one!

I found the above on lan-opc.org.uk

but these 2 do not seem to have been baptised in the same place

As yet, cannot locate any service records. Those that I have looked at are a mess. More than one Joseph Corbett in any file!!

It was the opening thread, but Lee himself who provided the DOB in Wigan stating that the mother's maiden name was Jameson.

It fitted exactly with the baptism found by yourself.
Parents were Joseph and Alice.
Alice Jameson was married to John Barton. but he died just after the census in 1911.
The death info that you found for John Barton is the same address as the 1911 census.
Therefore, we at least know this particular Alice Barton Ms Jameson was now a widow.

An Alice Barton then married Joseph Corbett.
Subsequent Corbett children have mother's maiden name as Jamieson

Everything looks just about right.... unless there is another Robert Corbett who was born in Wigan on exactly the same day with a mother whose maiden name was ,,,, Jameson ???
They were also all mining families and lived in the same area of Wigan

I agree though, Lee needs to obtain the Corbett/ Barton marriage as confirmation that Alice was a widow with maiden name of Jameson.

I would normally agree with that Anne - all data is positive in some way - I was just worried that as Lee is new to the boards that it might confuse

I have had a pm from Lee saying thank you for the help but she/he did not say whether any of the info is correct. We are not even sure that we have the right parents for Robert as they have never been confirmed

If Lee needs clarification we can set it out and provide the chain of events and family data.
Delete it or simply edit it.
It simply shows that this option was explored and found not to be the correct person.

I put the death of John on page 1 - from lan-opc which shows the address when he died as 2 Navigation St

I think we may be confusing Lee with the incorrect census info posted (I know I was a bit confused and I'm used to it)

I have been away from my PC for a little while and when I left had the 1911 image up but now can't get it.

I can't look at the image but I would think they are crossed out because they completed a separate entry which is the one I put up but living at the same address
