I would highly recommend getting this death certificate. It may help you establish some more facts on Thomas's birth.

1979 CLARKE THOMAS BEAUMONT M 89 GREENOCK /RENFREW 640/00 0946

Thomas died in Scotland.

Did Thomas have an accent at all?

Could Thomas have possibly got his father's name wrong?

Hi,

once again I am appealing for help in tracing my maternal Grand fathers ancestry.

Thomas Clarke was born 18-2-1890, although I am sure the year is correct the actual day may be out a little.

We do not know where my grand father was born possibly England, that is the belief in our family, he certainly spoke with what sounded like an English accent.

He married his Scottish wife (my Gran) in Glasgow 1918.
On the Scottish marriage certificate it only states his father was William Clarke-Occupation Milk Salesman (Deceased) and his mother Eliz(s)abeth Beaumont (Deceased)

I have done searches with the limited information I have, however, there are so many Thomas Clarkes. I cannot claim to be an expert in doing searches, if anyone can assist or point out how I can narrow this down, it will be much appreciated. :-)

thanks in anticipation
Tommy Owen
