Just catching up!
Can't really offer any more really. except to suggest you risk getting the death cert for Laura Smith, on the assumption it is her daughter. (I know this is a bit speculative as you do not know her birth date). If it is, the death is recent enough that the informant might be of interest.

Re. the Smiths, it could be worse! At least he is a Benjamin not a John!
Give all his details and we can maybe track him down. That is, age, address, occupation, father's name & occ.

Well, unless somebody has a better idea (very possible!) I suggest you try tracing her husband's family -remotely possible they might know a bit more.

Did you ever say who the witnesses were on the marriage cert? Sorry if I have missed it but can't see that you have.

Might be her daughter's death maybe???

If she has the same name and address, looks like she was unmarried, so there is basically nothing to look for.. You can still check that electoral register, just on the off-chance it offers a clue, but I can't see any other children so it's a very long shot. Laura would be 92 or so now if she is still with us, and who can say what she knew about her mother's family.
It's a challenge but I wonder if there are other family members around? You might need to check out the Smiths - help!

Was her daughter married? Obviously I am not asking for her name! You should have her name at the time of the registration and also her address on the cert.
If she was married you might be able to track her marriage record down.
You can also check electoral register to see who else of voting age was living at both addresses - you probably know that this has to be done in person, or by staff where the records are kept - normally the nearest main library to the address.
If you wish me to have a look, PM what you have.re. her daughter's name if it is other than Smith.
