Ann - The information - which has been submitted - is all so wrong on there, and caused me a lot of problems until I was able to get documentation about the Hallams. Why canĀ“t people get their facts right before posting such information. Totally misleading.

Thanks however, you weren`t to know.

Regards, Janet

Oh! Do you live in Loughborough then? I was there in May this year and my cousin took me to Pinfold Gate where I took a photo. I also visited the house in Storer Road where my grandparents lived. That brought back childhood memories.

It's very cold here too - you might like to know that Pinfold Gate is still there - at least half of it anyway - a little row or tiny terraced houses which have been recently 'done up'

Well, that sounds very interesting alviegal. If the 1871 census shows the correct Frederick he certainly was a bricklayer.

Yes Chris his father`s name was Thomas Hallam.

I just could not understand how a person could disappear from all the records and there is no death recorded. It all seems quite logical now. The Hallams are very tricky as it is such a common name in Leics. & Notts. It took me 7 years to establish which Thomas Hallam I am related to. ;-)

I will check all the links you have sent me. Many thanks and best wishes from a very cold Germany.
