Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone could help me?

Queenie is my aunt, born about 1905 and died in the 70's. I have a little dilema. Queenie suppossedly married George Reader. They were definately a couple as i was growing up. But contrary to this, i can't find a marriage document for them. The other little dilema is Brian. My aunt and uncle never had children. When i was young i remember Brian appearing one day. Now i have lost touch with Brian so i cant ask what he knows. In my mind i believe Brian to have been adopted.

I was wondering if anyone could possibly shed some light on this please.

Ok, so i have had a look through these and the 1901 and 1911 census that Chris Ho has posted are correct for Queenie. Also the death info for George Robert Reader is correct.

Now Brian, i know his surname was different to my aunt and uncle. I dont know how old he was. All we know is he appeared one day to live with Queenie and George. Very little is known about him. Once i know more i'll post again.

Hi Jansmith,

Im not sure yet as there has never been any mention of her having married twice. I know she was believed to have married George Robert Reader but so far what i have found is that there is no record of them marrying. I have spoken to my mother about the marriages and she said that she did marry george but has never heard of Alfred Adaway but she believes this to be Queenie.

Chris, i am just about to look into what you have sent me so i will get back to you soon.

Also after speaking to my mother she has given me a little more information on Brian. She has said that Brian is a relative of George's that Queenie and George took in when he was young. She did not know if Brian had the same last name as George or not.
