My gr.grandfather JAMES KAVANAGH m. ELIZABETH SMITH approx. 1871(both born in Ireland but might have married in Birkenhead, England. They had 7 children ELLEN (1873),JOHN JAMES(1874),THOMAS(1876),WILLIAM(1879) - my grandfather,MARY ANN(1882),ELIZABETH(1884),MARGARET(1886). I would like any info. on James and Elizabeth. Also my grandfather WILLIAM m. BRIDGET WATTERS in 1904 in Birkenhead and I believe she was from DUNDALK?? Also there was a connection with a PADDY QUIGLEY also from DUNDALK. Any help with those 2 names would be great.

I think they may have married in Ireland before emigrating to Birkenhead and unfortunately I don't know which part. This has been a real road-block for me but I'll keep trying.

An Ancestry tree has this family. According to them James died at sea 1889 and Elizabeth died 9.3.1900.
They have the marriage as 31.1.1872 in Birkenhead, but no idea why!
