I don't think this is very likely - and she is very possibly Elizabeth!

Looks like it Jan. Why they married in Nottingham is a mystery to me but maybe not to Nicola?

I know Liz - pretty much dismissed it till I saw the census. Harby is 14/15 miles from Nottingham. There doesn't seem to be any other link - as far as I can tell they never went far from Harby at any other time!
I would be tempted to get the cert myself.
Most odd.

Just in passing, I can't see Daniel pre-1881, but I can see a John D. so speculating:

Thank you, thank you, all you lovely helpers.
I am doing this for my 86 year old mother who spent holidays with her grandparents in Harby. We went to Harby recently and as a result found Florence Annie Haywood, daughter of D & B, buried 20th Oct 1979 in unmarked grave aged 94. This info from 'Harby' history website - fantastic and very useful. I managed to trace back to Daniel & Betsy - my mother never new her grandparents first names. Strangely they do not seem to have been buried in Harby with their daughter. Anyone know how I can find their resting place? My mother wants to go there to pay her respects.
Nicola :-)

Have you tracked down their deaths? I would look on Freebmd and try to do so as a first step.
