Bethany I see my name has been mentioned. I have information on all of Thomas (of Eyemouth) descendants right down to my husband. In fact I have written them up into a book called 'The Road to Edinburgh ' avalable from Blurb self publishing company.

Know some times the dates/ages are not consistent but the names all sound right And i do have my Thomas as 1784? but also have a brother Thomas as 1801 with siblings as Agnes 1808?, Jennet 1795died 1797, twins Jane &Jennet 1797, then both Thomas. 1801 and 1784. hope i haven't confused this more

Thanks Stuart the 1861 and 1851 both fit perfect as have the siblings and there was definatley an Agnes who must have died young will look into the 1841 as some names dont recognise .Thanks Again Beth

Thanks Joy Will check it out. Am really hopeing to get back to a link with Rev DD Thomas Guthrie 1803. As my grand parents were told by their grand parents that there is a family connection.

I read your post because I am descended from Guthries in Berwickshire, but it's a different line.
A Lilian Sloan has a blog in which she details a Guthrie line which seems to contain a number of the people you mention.

Hello hopefully someone could help me here I can with confidence go back on my tree to my g.g.g. granddad then I seem to have gone wrong as only a 13 year gap between father and son.
definite about my g.g. granddad James Guthrie 1855 Edinburgh married Mary Shaw 1854 Bathgate.
James Parents
Mt g.g.g. granddad William Guthrie 1826 married Mary Gowans 1817 both west Lothian.
was reasonably sure Williams parents
Catherine Brown 1780 married Thomas Guthrie 1784 of Eyemouth.

Thomas Parents really not sure but think Elisabeth Wilson 1735 married Robert Guthrie 1762 Then i have Robert Guthrie 1749 as father but would only make him 13 so thinking have gone wrong an is possibly his brother rather than father
