Rose's mum was definatley Fanny, and she had her out of wedlock, the family never knew who Rose's father was.
Rose's ashes are in undercliffe cemetery, Bradford as she is with George Broadbent in a war grave.

I know the Broadbents did live down Dallam St years ago

The fathers name on the marriage cert. Albert, must be a lie!! Because her mums maiden name is Leeming. Bless them, They probably didnt want them to know he business x

If you look at the marriage for Albert that I posted earlier his surname is Leeming and Fanny's maiden name is also Leeming (perhaps they were relatives of some kind).

Although Albert had died by the time Rose was born Fanny's name was still Leeming and so Rose would be named Leeming anyway even if Albert was not her father.

If the marriage of Rose to George Broadbent is definitely the right one then I would be inclined to buy the marriage certificate for Albert Leeming to Fanny Leeming just to see what it says. If Fanny names her father as Leonard then you can be pretty sure it is the right one.

Looking back over the census records it seems that Fanny Leeming's father is Leonard Leeming born Thorpe Green, Yorkshire c.1843

Albert Leeming's father is Henry Leeming born Thorpe Green, Yorkshire c.1840.

They are brothers who can be seen here in the 1851 census together with their parents:-

So it looks like Fanny and Albert were cousins. This would not stop them marrying.

If I were you I would definitely get the marriage certificate for Fanny and Albert.
