	I believe that your only option is to add your details to the adoption register. If your adopted sibling has sought or is seeking details of their birth family then there may be a connection possibility. There is no real advantage in you obtaining a copy of their birth certificate at this stage. If however you still wish to proceed with that and know the birth name, date and area then if in England or Wales you can look at the birth index at www.freebmd.org.uk to obtain the GRO reference number.
	Researching: Don't put off until tomorrow doing what you can do today. If you like doing it today you can do it again tomorrow. Be kind to your children for it is they who will decide which care home you end up in.

Member Since: January 2005 Posts: 15 Send Message	found out about a sibling adopted 1940sneed some advice please, I know the birth name and dateand area, dont know if stillalive, so if I get the birth cert with the details, do I have to go through the adoption register or how do I get the number on the certificate to find out where does that lead meto further information?? thanks.
