west horsley guildford district is given in 1911 census and i havve re-checked her birth on free bmd and she is not there shall see if i can find her somewhere else and get back to you

How do you know her maiden name is Greenwood?

That 1880 marriage is way too early to be the correct one, not to mention the wrong part of the country.

Essential to buy some certificates. This looks MUCH more likely, unless you have a birth certificate for one of the children that states her maiden name is Greenwood.

greenwood was the only marriage i found as their eldest child mabel emma was born in 1889 in cobham which makes the 1880 marriage of alice greenwood more likely

The evidence is against an 1880 marriage in the wrong area when Alice is 11 or 12.

Where is she in 1881, where are the childen born in the 1880s, where is Alice's birth? It doesn't add up.

The birth and marriage I posted earlier seems the logical choice. Dates fit with the 1911 census and it's the correct county.

Stephanie, if I might be blunt, the people above have done a lot of searching on your behalf, and the surname Greenwood just doesn't work. You have to purchase a certificate of the birth of one of her children (preferably the one you are certain is your ancestor) and determine her correct maiden name.

There is no alternative, unless you are happy to go down the wrong path and make mistakes.
