Hi everyone.Hope you are all well.
I am in need of more help with the McCarlie family.Please can anyone find out if Elizabeth b 1880 Sorn Catrine Scotland daughter of Alexander and Euphemia was ever married and did daughter Mary b 1874 emigrate in 1894 and get married.
Also did Alexander b 1775 Leswalt marry 3 times .1st marriage Mary Hunter ,2nd marriage Mary Gilmour 1821,but on 1851 census shows wife as Margt is this a 3rd or just a miss spelling.

Hi everyone thank you for the new information now I know that the McCarlie family were in Leswalt.
I have found there is a lot of different spellings in all families which does confuse things at times.

Deaths

McCarlie Eliz 51 19 July 1840 buried 21 July Knock.

Dont know if she was McCarlie (married name or maiden name).

Have also found a number of "McKERLIE" going back to 1684 but no McCarlie...also have 1 McKAIRLY.

Given the variation of spelling down the centuries I would imagine the above may be the family/extended family.

Yes very unfortunate for him I would say...!!

That's unfortunate..... so he died before 1855 :(
