Hi everyone thank you for the new information now I know that the McCarlie family were in Leswalt.
I have found there is a lot of different spellings in all families which does confuse things at times.

Sheila...Have found this for Leswalt....

Deaths

McCarlie Eliz 51 19 July 1840 buried 21 July Knock.

Dont know if she was McCarlie (married name or maiden name).

Have also found a number of "McKERLIE" going back to 1684 but no McCarlie...also have 1 McKAIRLY.

Given the variation of spelling down the centuries I would imagine the above may be the family/extended family.

Yes very unfortunate for him I would say...!!

That's unfortunate..... so he died before 1855 :(

1st marriage to Mary Hunter about 1802,2nd marriage to Mary Gilmour 1821..
I am trying to find his parents.
