Find Ancestors

Anyone out there who is a Lyas or married a Lyas would you have answers to the following.

Ernest Douglas Lyas b 1902 d 1985 Stowmarket married Ivy Maud Chandler b 1905 d 1989 Stowmarket. Fact.

My question is did Ernest have siblings Robert, Emma and Eliza and was their father Henry Lyas born 1860 and did he marry Hannah but which Hannah.

I only remember Ernie and Ivy (nana and grandad) their son Douglas Ernest (known as Ernie) and his sister Brenda who married Peter Beer and had a son out in Cyprus called Craig. I have no recollection of Grandads brother and sisters.

Any help would be appreciated as looking on BDM's, Census etc I need to know the answers as fact.

Reggie - Ernest Douglas was grandfather and Douglas Ernest was son but always known as Ernie. I am trying to get my little brother to go through boxes of documents and paperwork that he has to see if ha can find any certificates and such like.

Brummiejan - Ernest Douglas and Ivy Maud are definite names as we had them put on gravestones.

Chris Ho - thanks for info and probably buried in same cemetery as nana and grandad and only managed to get half done when last 'graveyard hopping'.

You may have put 'Douglas' on the gravestone, but the name does not appear on any OFFICIAL online records about the man.

Any comment on the info about ROBERT?

btw it was always an in family joke that Grandad was vain enough to name his son the opposite way round to his own hence Ernest Douglas and Douglas Ernest. Brenda (sister of Douglas Ernest) was always relieved that she was not named Maud Ivy. ha ha
