George Brassington was the son of Joseph B and Hannah Palin who married at Betley in 1788. Joseph was the son of Walter B and MAry Ann Turner who married at Betley in 1761. Walter was the son of Edward B and Ann Kingston who married at Trentham in 1727. Edward founded the Betley branch of the Brassington's. Edward and Ann had their early children in Trentham and the later ones in Betley. Many of the children born in Trentham move to Betley and the the ages at Burial tie in for the children as well, confirming Eaward and Ann of Tretham are the same ones who moved to Betley.

Memorial Inscription: Here lieth the body of Edward Brassington who died May 15th 1790 aged 87 yrs, George the son of Thomas and Sarah Brassington of Knowlebank died June 23rd 1818 aged 18 weeks Also Charles died March 28th 1820 aged five years.

Edward was born 1703 to Thomas B and Grace Whitehurst who married in 1694. The connection to the Whitehursts is tied together by the Will of Henry Whitehurst and his four Brassington grandchildren and left money in the Will
