I have just checked the image on Findmypast Newspapers. It wasn't Daniel Lawson who was interred - it was his eldest daughter Elizabeth. This is the death:- |

Thank you for looking Kathleen I saw that one but dismissed it as I saw no reason for him to be in Carlisle. he was in South Shields for all of the census'. |

If this Elizabeth who died in 1904 was the daughter of "your" Daniel then he must have been born earlier than you said as Elizabeth must have been born around 1817. |

I think she would have been a bit old to be his daughter. |

Which census do you have Daniel in as I can't find him? |

This looks like the christening of the Elizabeth from the newspaper from the IGI:- |

I will have to get back to you on that as I am on my iPad and searching on it is not fun by any means.....I do however remember dismissing it as The Carlisle one was accounted for. Sorry, I am not being helpful am I :-( |

I don't think this death of Elizabeth has anything to do with the Daniel you are looking for as Dorothy (the mother on the christening record above) is a widow in the 1851 census:- |

That is the one Don't reply. I have all the census information marriages...births, Newspaper articles for Patents for him and his brother who moved to Leeds. We just cannot find his death. |

This is the only likely death I can see for "your" Daniel Lawson although the age is out by quite a bit. The age given on death records is only as accurate as the informant's knowledge of the deceased:- |

Could be an error typing the age: |

I think I'd be inclined to buy this death certificate Susan just to see what address is given on it. |

So he was Kathleen.....Yes, I do believe that one would have been born 1839 .....We often wonder if they got the date wrong. I suppose we will have to send off for it and check the address and informant.......Why can't things be easy? Tsk! |

Thank you Don't Reply, LA and Kathleen......I think we may be a little further than when we started. I will look into all. |
