Well I have looked at the 1911 for this family and I am convinced it is your Kate. She had 14 children 7 of whom died.

I tried it once and did'nt like it!!!! but 14..................................

Right looked again and I think it is John James Taylor as her father on that marriage.

Kate E father died in Sheffield he was a army pensioner,
I have been looking for Kate marriage for years, the whole family are a big problem.

This death would fit and I am now wondering if this John Jones was Elias John Taylor from the marriage cert. The writing is so bad and they have made a terrible mess of the whole thing by putting names etc in wrong places and crossing them out.

My Kate farther died 23 Feb 1870, so may be she didn't know his name!! It is a problem with such a common name as Taylor,
There were two Kate Elizabeth married in Cowes neither of them mine.

The marriage in 1879 Camberwell reads Joseph William Alistair Smith a Mariner.


Her father is John Jones Taylor.

Oh dear, that is odd, that was looking good, there was only three Kate Taylor born on the IOW between 1855 and 1865, Kate Elizabeth Newport mine, Kate Elizabeth 1861in Cowes & Kate Elizabeth 1863 in Ryde.

Not sure that Kate Elizabeth married Joseph William Smith. This is them (I think) on the 1891 census. Kate's mother appears to be Elizabeth DUNN ?

Perhaps it is a different family ?
